Rare Earth By: Kurt Allan – Audiobook Online

Rare Earth is a suspenseful sci-fi thriller and debut novel about a unique hero and second chances.
A mining crew lost, 400 million miles from Earth. A retired miner sets out to find out why.

Waldo Packwood has been having a rough time lately. He lost his job, his friends, and eventually his family. At the age of 50, he lived alone in a small apartment and wondered what had happened to his life. He is unexpectedly asked to travel to Hector 1, an asteroid unique to the Jupiter Trojans, to investigate the missing crew.

His trip is a struggle from the start, as he discovers more about the people around him and what they’re willing to do to keep Hector 1 to himself. Instead of finding answers, he plunges into the battle of his life as he struggles to uncover the secrets and lies that have been built around this distant world.

I don’t consider myself a book reviewer, good, good, or otherwise. I’m at an age where I have more life behind than before and so try to live it rather than write cliché reviews that may or may not make any sense. I often consider professional critics to be unsuccessful writers who think they have the potential to be qualified critics.

There is no other way, buy this book!

the break! Rare Earth is more or less written in the first person, the main character telling the story so you get the impression that he did it all the way to the end. Well, maybe…

Fifty-year-old Waldo, a depressed lender, lives through the day for almost no good reason except that he has a daughter he loves. He was hand-picked for a job he was completely unfit to consider but he has a bit of background experience that could be helpful.
