Running Trom The Deity A Pip & Flinx Adventure – Audiobook Online

Running Trom The Deity – Pip & Flinx (chronological order), Book 10, Pip & Flinx (published order), Book 11, Audiobook Online By: Alan Dean Foster

From sci-fi legend Alan Dean Foster comes a thrilling new adventure for Pip and the Flinx in which a red-haired, blue-eyed young man is blessed (or cursed) with uncanny powers to find finds himself and his little dragon companion in a top secret.

The quest involves deep space, alien worlds… and a primordial horror intent to devour them all.
In the outer depths of the universe lies the Great Gap, where something terrifying lurks, hidden behind the great gravitational lens of dark matter. Something terrible howls, writhes, and rages across 300 million light-years in space – and is now heading straight for the Commonwealth and moving faster all the time.

There is a slim chance of averting disaster and only Flinx can take that chance. Galactic Roaming is a conscious planet-sized weapon system, the legacy of a long-extinct race. Since Flinx is the only person who has ever experienced mental contact with the machine, his mission is to find the alien’s powerful artifact and lure it into the war against the giant monster from beyond outside.

So Pip and Flinx bravely sail into the unknown aboard their small spaceship, which is immediately forced into emergency repairs on the planet Arrawd, inhabited by sentient beings, less advanced and therefore forbidden to space travelers. But with Arrawd being beautiful and Flinx being Flinx, this particular rule stands no chance.

Now, Flinx is no stranger to murderous attacks and stalking assassins – evading them takes up most of his waking hours – but to be surrounded by crowds worshiping him like a god? Worse still, escaping this fate would not be the same as completing his dire mission. What is a god for?

Flinx and Pip is my favorite novel. I have read or listened to them many times. My favorite part is when Flinx is excited to explore and thinks its interactions are safe. Seeing new places and meeting aliens sounds great even though some are scary.

Another part of Pip and Flinx’s adventure. You should listen in sequence to get the full effect. The series allows you to follow Flinx’s life as he matures, while enjoying an independent adventure in each book. The books are fun, nicely paced and filled with light humour. Really worth a listen if you’re into sy-fy. This particular book in the series also takes a humanist perspective on cults, while also humorously mixing some of the pitfalls of politics.
