Shaman’s Crossing is a great book and the only reason it doesn’t rate higher is because most of the reviewers (like me) have read Robin Hobb’s other trilogy (farseer, liveships, tawny). man) which is wonderful. The character development is excellent, drawing you into the book, and as with all RH books, the main story and subplots keep you interested from the start. I really think Shaman’s Crossing is book one the best of this trilogy. Unlike the farseer trilogy and the lifeship trilogy where things keep getting better and better, the soldier trilogy about boys feels a bit enticing, although it’s still a good book and I would recommend it to others. any fantasy fan.

I have always enjoyed books by Robin Hobbs, definitely one of my favorite fantasy authors. The Farseer trio, the lifeboat dealers and the Tawny Man are so amazing, they need to be read and by a great storyteller like this one. Nevare Burville, the soldier’s son, enters a world of dreams and subtle magic with interesting characters. The Soldier Son’s first book isn’t the fastest paced at all, it’s a bit slow, but I still enjoyed it. She builds and introduces the characters very well, giving them some nasty qualities that all humans possess, which will set off disappointment in a good way. The narrator did a great job, I hope he continues the series and reads more books in general.
