Then he finds out what “savage” really means.

An anthology of four Joe Pickett stories that I really liked, a story about Nate Romanowski, a friend of Joe’s, that was interesting, even though I’d read it before. The other stories are very good, a very short story, a historical story about trappers.

The author is someone I seek out because his love for the subject he chose shines through with the descriptive detail of rural Montana, its history and way of life, which makes his novels It comes to life, with so few words that the author still manages to be enjoyable and enjoyable to read, making the time well spent. With suspense and mystery that keeps the reader hooked to the last page, his novels and stories are not to be missed.

I’ve just read all but one book by CJ Box’s Joe Picket and love the sense of space, the extraordinary landscape, and the sense of season and the hardships and joys each season brings and that’s before the story begins – it’s fascinating and then much to learn and also enjoy. Great read
