The two private agents have put their lives on the line for the country many times and during this their personal lives have just nothing left in them. Michelle Maxwell gets brutal wounds in the last case and is in the hospital when the story begins. Sean King perhaps gets the chance this way to know how much he cares for Maxwell. While his heart wants to remain close to Maxwell a call for duty just takes him far away from the field. Raw action and use of guns don’t terrorize Sean but this is something new for him this time.

Author David Baldacci uses a computer in his story now. All the code language and hacking stuff are new for the old hero i.e Sean King. He does not know much about the classified code stuff but he knows one thing i.e his country is under great threat. Instead of going on this alone, Sean prays for Maxwell’s health first and luckily she gets back on her feet for another mission.

A new kind of war has started differently from Split Second and Daylight. Both agents get into the world of computers where the brain is mightier than the gun. One Genius girl proves to be more threatening than an entire gang of terrorists in this world where machines have the real brain. Since the series has started the fans have seen more action as compared to depth in the story but Scott Brick gets the chance to narrate real tricky material here. Plans of the enemy don’t get exposed to the climax and investigation is through computer software and not through murders and bloodshed.
