Dominic West is best known for starring in numerous films, including 28 Days, Mona Lisa Smile, The Forgotten and 300. He played McNulty in HBO’s The Wire, one of the critically acclaimed television shows. ever done in the United States. In 2011, he won a TV BAFTA Award for his performance in the ITV mini-series Adult Fit, and he was also nominated for a Golden Glove Award for the BBC series The Hour.

An entertaining read. Not as much action as Fleming Bond but interesting and well written. More politics than action, but not a bad endeavor at all. This is the third author of a James Bond novel I’ve read after Ian Fleming’s original and it’s all well written and for the most part, traces Bond’s history better than the movie versions.

Boyd is one of my favorite modern authors, and unlike recent Faulks and Deaver books, this one didn’t disappoint. Perfect style, interesting story and classic Fleming Bonds are preserved. I liked the African flavor in the novel and the plot had enough twists and turns to make a radical turn. West’s narration is also excellent. If you are a Bond/Boyd fan, I recommend this book.
