It was worth the wait as usual. I don’t want to take for granted your writing, I read a lot and you are the top of my favorite authors.
I really enjoyed this new arena, have to say I missed Minnesota and all the great characters, but hopefully everyone will read and enjoy this very well written cast of characters as much as I have.
Will be waiting for your next great book. Also David was superb, it is like an old friend bringing your words to life. Don’t ever change narrators.

Preachy

I have read all of Krueger’s books so far and he does get a little preachy. This time he went overboard. He reduced a very complex problem with illegal immigration to "scared people write stupid laws" that should be ignored. Border Patrolmen enforcing those laws think that people who look Hispanic are more likely to be illegally in this country than people who look Scandinavian. Everybody who enters this country illegally is really a good person. So in the plot of this book because bad laws should be ignored we end up with the good guys killing lots of people and in some cases hiding the bodies because, like immigration laws we don’t believe in, dealing with the legal consequences of the killings would be inconvenient.

David Chandler did an excellent job of narrating and the story was engaging.

we do not agree with the smuggling of illegals into the US and the obvious slant of the author. we need to work on the millions of poor that are US citizens first
