Super Powereds: Year 4 is a literary fiction book by author Drew Hayes.
The final year at Lander has finally arrived for the Melbrook students and their peers, bringing with it a whole new set of challenges. As the events of their senior year unfold, the remaining students will have to overcome their grief – and beyond – if they hope to become one of the 10 recipients of the Hero title upon graduation.

Continuous tests and tests await the seniors. In addition to missions and simulation classes, they’ll also have to buckle up to learn about potential agents, teams, internships, and other endless elements of becoming a Hero. For some, the classroom is just one aspect of the trouble ahead. Long-buried secrets have been unearthed; old mysteries are finally unraveled; and what lies at its heart has the power to shake the realm of Heroes to its very foundations.

First of all, even though I love fantasy, I never thought I would read a superhero story. I think I’ve had enough of that with comic books and all the comic book-related movies and TV shows. Thankfully, I just finished reading The Last Book of Spells, Swords, and Invisibility (which is another good Hayes series you should read) and decided to check out the Super Power series. I’m so glad I did.

This has easily become one of my favorite series I have ever read. What impressed me the most was that with 5 main characters and many supporting characters who were still pretty mainstream, he never had a chapter that wasn’t completely engaging no matter who it revolved around. This is a problem I run into while reading both Martin and Sanderson’s books, and I’m impressed that Hayes was able to pull it off so well.

I’m really sad that these books are over, I enjoyed them so much. I really keep seeing how many books are left to read.
The story of Vince, Alice, Mary, Hershel, Roy and Nick is finally over and they have a happy ending. The attention to detail in everyday life in this coming-of-age story for the Heroes is stunning, but perfectly balanced with the action. The storyline is well paced and the characters develop beautifully.
