Review 1: Sword of Power – The Black Musketeers Book 2 by Bill Schools

I was disappointed with this 2-book series. I am an avid reader of all things medieval which is why I purchased these novels but my disappointment comes from the reading level of the prose. These books seem to me to be intended for young adult or teenaged readers. They are on about an eighth grade reading level and unfortunatly for me, I desire more in what I read.

Story holds your interest and makes you want to find out what’s going to happen next. This is a story with continuing characters as with the Hangman’s Daughter series by the same author. Didn’t give a “5” because the ending seemed not as climactic as it could have been and obviously was intended to make you read the next book in the series. Very readable. Recommended.

The story is amazing!

I love Oliver Pötzsch and all his books, the guy who narrated the Hangman’s Daughter was fantastic. The guy who narrates this series is terrible. He has no intonation in his words and most of the time they just fall flat. He has lots of breathes through out the story and he quite often pauses in very odd places. I tried to listen to this story but it was just so bad I couldn’t so I read it instead.
