Eden, Eli, Ilanka and Marwan all received a notice from a teacher to meet in class after school. All came, but no teacher… just a small cube lying on the table. They weren’t sure what they should do or why they were called to this class, but then the cube lit up and made some rules: they couldn’t tell anyone about the device, they never are left with the device and they need to bring the cube with them. They don’t know if this is a prank or some kind of experiment, but they follow the rules… or at least try. The cube is constantly adding new rules that make group interactions more complex. What is this cube and what will it ultimately expect from these teenagers?

Take Me with You is an indie novel that is part thriller, part science fiction, and part coming of age story. Just as the cube doesn’t fit the preconceived ideas of these teenagers, this novel doesn’t fit into any genre either. Altebrando created a story with a lot of potential, but it failed. The ending didn’t have a happy ending and I lost interest in reading halfway through.
