The word Alchemist goes deep in history and the story written by Paulo Coelho was never originally in English but later it was translated and appreciated throughout the world. The book is more about the realization of your dreams and the extent to which you can go for their achievement.

Santiago, a common boy who used to graze cattle in Andalusia, had a dream that he would get a lot of money. At first he failed to comprehend his dream but then a gipsy woman told him the true meaning of his dream. Being eager to get rich the boy moves further and sells his sheep even in order to get money for the journey. Not once but twice he is robbed during the journey and faces terrible difficulties on the way but the hope to prosper is never lost.

The love of an Arabian girl forces him to get settled in life but then the journey is not stopped at that point and with a heavy heart the boy moves forward for the fulfillment of his dream. Word “Personal Legend” always echoes in the background and works quite dramatically on the minds of the listener. Situational irony strikes Santiago at the end when he comes to know that the treasure was there in the church from where he started his journey.

The journey was more precious to him at this point because he got his survival instincts working through the journey and fell in love with a lovely girl, the struggles really made him a new man. Jeremy Irons’ voice is quite helpful for the audience because the narrator makes different words easy to understand which would have been difficult to read.
