The Dark Rose By Cynthia Harrod-Eagles – Audiobook Online

1501: The turmoil of Henry VIII’s reign brings passion and pain to the Morlands as they gain ever greater wealth and prestige. Paul, Elanor Morland’s great-grandson, had inherited Morland’s estates and his own Amyas would be his heir. But Paul had a beloved illegitimate son, and bitter jealousy caused a destructive rift between the two half-brothers and resulted in death.

Paul’s granddaughter, Nanette, became Anne Bolyen’s maidservant, and at Henry VIII’s court she became embroiled in the King’s bitter feud with Rome. Through life and death, love and hatred, victory and suffering, the Morlands continue to proudly assert their place among the British aristocracy.

I love this second installment in a long historical novel series set in northern England near York! It continues the story of the Morland family from 1501 during the reign of young King Edward after the death of his father, Henry VIII. I love this period of British history so it was especially interesting to follow Morlands through it.
