The Last Piece of My Heart
- Narrated by: Jan Cramer
A successful travel journalist, Bridget has ambitions to turn her quirky relationship blog into a book. But then another proposal caught her attention.
Nicole Dupré has died, leaving behind her best-selling novel and an incomplete sequel. Tasked with completing the book, Bridget is grateful for the opportunity to show what she can do, even if it means having to move to Cornwall and answer to Charlie, Nicole’s grieving husband . But when she learns of the family Nicole left behind, and the woman behind those words, Bridget’s priorities begin to change.
Wonderful book I liked the fact that she wasn’t all lovey dovey with Charlie from the beginning it was a great friendship for most of the book.
I enjoyed the narrator with all her accents for the different characters.
I loved it. Bridget is so likeable, I really enjoyed her story and I wanted her to get her happily ever after. I couldn’t put it down.
I love Paige Toon. I love how all her books are linked together through secondary characters. Just like a family tree. I get excited when I hear she has a new book coming out but then I read it so quick the next one seems sooooo far away. Then I go back and reread her other books!
A story of love, grief, human relationships with others and with ourselves.
This was for sure, a different story. The same level of proximity with the characters and the landscape regarding all of Paige Toon books, but to me this was about a greater love: a girl who thought to have a future figured out, a widower and a little kid.
Once again, reading Paige Toon is being left with warm memories.
