The Mother In Law – Audiobook Online By: Sally Hepworth

An exciting, gripping new audiobook about a woman’s complicated relationship with her mother – in – law that leads to her death…

From the moment Lucy met her mother – in – law, she knew she was not the wife Diana had envisioned for her perfect son. Extremely polite, friendly and always generous, Diana kept her distance from Lucy despite her desperate attempts to win her over. And as a pillar in the community, an advocate for refugee women and a happily married woman for decades, no one can speak ill of Diana… except Lucy.

That was five years ago.

Now that Diana is dead, a suicide note was found near her body stating she no longer wants to live because of the cancer ravaging inside her body.

But the autopsy found no cancer. It found traces of poison and evidence of suffocation.

Who would want Diana dead?

Why was her will changed at the 11th hour to disqualify both her husband and children from inheriting? And does that mean Lucy isn’t really sad when she’s gone?

Fractured relationships and deep family secrets become more and more intriguing with each chapter in this engaging and engaging new audiobook by Sally Hepworth.

This book is great. I listened to it in a day. Lots of believable twists and turns. I loathe the books I’ve read that focus on a tendency to the point where it becomes completely absurd. This is interesting in family dynamics. The characters all lack some more than others. I don’t hate any of the characters like some I’ve read/heard. But this is great. Definitely worth a credit. Also the narrator is great too.

I’ve never read Sally Hepworth before, but I like The Woman at the Window, The Girl on the Train, and that genre of fiction. I think this is in keeping with those well-deserved titles. However, this one burns slower. The author took ages to tell us it was a murder mystery, and then BAM. solve it. I usually want to find out whodunit before the author reveals the answer; In this case, I was unable to do so. I really enjoy slowly exploring the relationships between the characters. Each character is lovable in their own way. All in all, I highly recommend reading this.
