As she invests more in Hatters, Cate confronts the reality of her husband’s death and her role in it, prompting her to reconsider her future. This is a story that readers of Katherine Center and Evvie Drake Starts Over will love.
Having thoroughly enjoyed the author’s first novel Goodbye Paris, I have been looking forward to this second novel! I will admit that the cover art is a bit unsightly, but I went on to read this story that takes place in a small seaside town outside of London. Cate, a widow of four years, has lost her job due to redundancy, so she and her teenage son Leo make their way to Hatters, the museum that was supposed to be her family’s late husband Richard’s home with lots of it. nooks and crannies!. Once settled in, they met Araminta, the custodian of the family museum; a town Malcolm who brings groups to the museum; Curtis, who befriends Leo; Patch, an art teacher befriends Cate; and others. A story of love, duty, darkness, courage and loyalty under many guises that won’t let you down! A big thank you to Anstey Harris!
