The Nowhere Witch / Tales of Xest, Book 2, Audiobook Online By: Donna Augustine
I have three witches, also known as Xest Immigration, who are following me around to deport me back to Salem.
The wall I built in the Unstable Land is in danger. Hawk, a man who was once my ally, couldn’t decide whether he wanted to lead the crowd trying to kick me out or kiss me. Not to mention, people keep calling me a vanity witch, and I have a bad feeling that’s not a compliment.
But when betrayal began to strike, I realized I had bigger problems. Survival became the most important issue of the day.
The last book the heroine was used and manipulated throughout the story. This time, she’s in control. Until she doesn’t. Hawk is a strong and charismatic man. Good thing he likes her because the authorities in Xest want to deport her. Or he Hawk seems to have his own agenda, again. I like this book. We get to know the softer side of the heroine because she doesn’t fight for her freedom in this book. She is wanting to belong and strengthen the friendship.
I’ve been going through and re – reading all of my favorite pieces of Augustine’s work lately (though Wyrd Blood will probably always be my favorite). Looking back, I think I previously left a review that I wanted her up to speed in the next episode. I love her characters and her world, however while there’s always a lot of tension between her two main characters, there’s not always a lot of enthusiasm. She totally accepted it because her work was so well written, I just wanted to immerse myself in it and never leave, but I liked that the series seemed a bit more characterful. I send it Donna, I absolutely do.
