The Queen’s Assassin – Audiobook Online

The Queen’s Assassin is a young adult fantasy novel set in a magical kingdom called Renovia. The story follows two main characters, Caledon Holt and Shadow. Caledon Holt is the kingdom’s deadliest assassin, known for his unwavering loyalty to the queen. Shadow is a young woman from a small village who possesses magical powers, but is forced to keep them hidden due to a law that forbids the use of magic in the kingdom.

When the queen chooses Shadow to be her apprentice, Caledon is tasked with training her to become a deadly assassin. As they begin to work together, Shadow and Caledon uncover a dark conspiracy at the heart of the kingdom, and realize that they may be the only ones who can stop it. As they navigate the dangerous world of Renovia, Shadow and Caledon are forced to confront their own pasts and the feelings they have for each other. Along the way, they encounter a range of obstacles and challenges, including powerful enemies, ancient magical artifacts, and deadly secrets that threaten to tear apart the kingdom.

The Queen’s Assassin is a thrilling and fast-paced novel that will keep readers on the edge of their seats from beginning to end. With captivating characters, rich world-building, and a complex and compelling plot, this book is sure to delight fans of fantasy and adventure fiction.

Perfect for fans of Sarah J. Maas and the Red Queen, this is the first novel in YA’s fantasy romance duet about a deadly assassin, his mysterious apprentice, and the country they’ve sworn to protect from NYT best-selling author Melissa de la Cruz.

Caledon Holt is the kingdom’s deadliest weapon. No one alive can defeat him in speed, strength or intellect, which is why he is the most dangerous member of the Hearthstone Order. Cal is also the Queen’s Assassin, bound to her by magic and unable to leave her job until completing the mission she gave him.

Shadow of the Honey Glade had trained her whole life to join the Guild, hoping that one day she would become a feared and respected assassin like Cal. But Shadow’s mother and aunts expect her to serve the crown as a lady of the Renovian Court.

When a surprise attack brings Shadow and Cal together, they are forced to team up as assassins and apprentices. Although Shadow’s life belonged to the court and Cal’s to the queen, they couldn’t deny their attraction to each other. But now, with war looming and true love in jeopardy, Shadow and Cal will uncover a shocking web of lies that will change their paths forever.

I really enjoyed reading The Queen’s Assassin and I find myself reading it over and over again, but I have to say it took me longer than most other books to finish, but that’s mostly because I’m always busy. I found Shadow clever and amusing to read about, and I admired Caledon’s bravery in talking about what his father had promised the queen while they were in that cave. Their relationship is unique, but I like that part of it. I recommend reading it, and I can’t wait to read the second one.
