A Wall Street Journal bestseller.

A dead conspiracy theorist. A serial killer. Two cases clash between Callahan and McLane in a suspenseful thriller from the Wall Street Journal and Amazon Charts bestselling author Kendra Elliot.

A man was brutally murdered outside Portland. Detective Mason Callahan finds bloodstained evidence that reveals a troubling story. Records reveal the murder victim, Reuben Braswell, was a radical mastermind. At his home, investigators found pages of attacks against law enforcement as well as his relationship with Mason’s fiancée, FBI agent Ava McLane. The victim is her informant – and there’s good reason to be paranoid.

To Ava, Braswell’s taunts are those of a tired and innocuous man…until they collide with her investigation into the murders of police officers and finding a connection. Contact becomes urgent. Meanwhile, Braswell’s brother and Ava’s twin sister both disappear, and disturbing acts of vandalism target Ava’s personal life.

For Mason and Ava, brutal crimes and escalating mysteries create the perfect storm for a terrorist plot to turn personally dangerous – one that has yet to find its final victim. .

It is an excellent book. And Audible is beyond perfect. It brings the people I love together and really maintains the character and individuality of the team. Excited for Mercy’s arrival. I miss her. I miss all the older characters. This plot is written very smoothly and I really care. Glad there are four more in this series.
