The Sinner is the 18th book in the popular Black Dagger Brotherhood Series written by J. R. Ward. This urban fantasy romance novel was published on March 24, 2020, and continues the captivating story of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, a group of powerful vampire warriors who protect their kind from various threats.

In this installment, the focus is on Syn, a vampire who has been imprisoned for centuries due to his dark past and violent tendencies. Syn is known as the most feared member of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, and his reputation precedes him. However, when he is unexpectedly released from his confinement, he finds himself struggling to adapt to the modern world and haunted by his past actions.

As Syn tries to find his place among his brothers once again, he crosses paths with Jo Early, a human woman who has her own demons to face. Jo is a nurse who works at Haver’s clinic, a facility that provides medical assistance to vampires. She has dedicated her life to helping others and has a compassionate nature that draws Syn to her.

Despite their initial differences and the challenges they face, Syn and Jo form a deep connection that transcends their individual struggles. As they navigate their complicated relationship, they must confront their past traumas and learn to trust each other. Together, they discover that love can heal even the deepest wounds.

Throughout the story, readers are also introduced to other members of the Black Dagger Brotherhood and their ongoing battles against enemies such as the Lessening Society. The book delves into the complex dynamics between the Brotherhood members and their allies, highlighting their loyalty and unwavering commitment to protecting their race.

“The Sinner” explores themes of redemption, forgiveness, and the power of love in overcoming personal demons. J.R. Ward skillfully weaves together action-packed scenes with emotional depth, creating a compelling narrative that keeps readers engaged until the very end.

Syn has kept his mercenary work a secret from the Black Dagger Brotherhood. When he takes another successful job, he not only crosses the path of the new enemy of the vampire race, but also the enemy of a half-breed that is in danger of dying in her transition. that. Jo Early has no idea what her true nature is, and when a mysterious man emerges from the shadows, she is torn between their sexual connection and a feeling that something is very wrong.

Fate has anointed Butch O’Neal as Dhestroyer, the performer of the prophecy that foretold the end of Omega. As the war with the Mitigation Guild reached its climax, Butch gained an unexpected ally in Syn. But can he trust men – or is the warrior with a bad past a deadly complication?

With time running out, Jo is caught up in the fray and must join Syn and the Brotherhood to fight the ultimate evil. In the end, will true love prevail… or has the prophecy long been wrong?

Oh, so much has happened in this book but it all happened in the end. Catching those seems to take forever!!! The beginning felt a bit slow to me, which is very unusual for this series. I’m excited to see where this series is headed and get some of the answers we’ve been waiting for. The “surprise” in this book was not a surprise to me at all, I knew from the first meeting what was going to happen. This book is great but I’m more excited about the direction the series is going so the next book is going to be awesome, that’s all I know!

I definitely fell in love with this series. From book one, it’s impossible not to love these leather-clad warriors and their personalities and flaws and everything. JR Ward built a wonderful world in Caldwell. In my mind, it’s a vacation spot. Who could ever think of crying over the loss of a vampire or experiencing the joy of finally finding love in their immortal life. The Great Blind King, Wrath is a horror, even without sight. But for his story, his love for his family, his people and his dog… my only problem is keeping watch, waiting for the next book to hit the shelves. Great!

Did she do the pickaxe?! JR Ward has maintained a brotherhood with 17 books, and this book is one of my favorites that serve the stage for new characters and stories coming out. Good release to some real bad guys and welcome to more family connections. Love children’. Love the good healers as well as the BDB fighters. Read it. Five stars.

As with all Wards books, I’ve laughed, I’ve cried, after reading them all, sometimes more than twice, I’m listening to them all! Trying to catch up with Lassiter because OCD won’t let me do it any other way! Must be in order! God loves you J.R. Ward! You make my day better! Been reading this series for almost 20 years! And I will continue to do so as long as she keeps writing!
