In conclusion, The Striker is a gripping historical fiction novel that combines elements of mystery, adventure, and romance. Clive Cussler and Justin Scott deliver an exciting tale set against the backdrop of early 20th-century America, showcasing the struggles and triumphs of Isaac Bell as he fights against corruption and greed.

It’s 1902, and a bright, inexperienced young man named Isaac Bell, who has only been an apprentice for two years at the Van Dorn Detectives’ Office, has an urgent message for his boss. Hired to hunt down extremist vandals in coal mines, he is the witness of a terrible accident that makes him think something else is going on, that the provocateurs are at work and Bigger parts are going on.

Little did he know how big they were. With exactly one week to prove his case, Bell quickly finds himself pitted against two of the most ruthless adversaries he has ever known, men of incredible ambition and cold blood. Ear detectives stand in their way.

What a wonderful mix of understanding about life in the 1900s. Cussler is so good. I was nervous when I read that the book goes back in time, to treat Bell as a new PI, but at the end of the book it turns to Bell’s later days. A very good story. and Scot Brick is the best. No question.

The dialogue and setting are just enough to move the story forward and be entertaining. The plot is well thought out and the characters receptive. The narrator does a good job. This book continues the adventures of Isaac Bell. Cussler, true to form, delivers excitement and an element of discovery throughout. I enjoyed every novel in the Isaac Bell series.

Cussler and Scott, and their hero Isaac Bell, never let them down.
Well, perhaps the writing isn’t as polished as Dickens, as creative as Vonneguet, or as fun as Twain. But it’s definitely hard to put down (or stop listening in this case).

Just a good ole ride down the road. Whether it’s Dirk Pitt, Fargos or Isaac Bell. When you hold a Cussler novel, you won’t want to put it down.
The Striker is another great adventure from Isaac Bell. Lots of twists and turns, some I didn’t see coming. Great read!!!

Great story. The narration is even better. Cussler never fails to spin an incredible story. Scott Brick brings life to the story beautifully, with emotion at the right time and enthusiasm in the action and suspense.
Don’t miss this one!
