The Tuesday Club Murders
- Narrated by: Joan Hickson
When her friends from the Tuesday Night Club visit Miss Marple’s house, the conversation often turns to unsolved crimes. Attempting to solve these 13 mysteries is Raymond West, a young writer; artist Joyce Lemprière; Dr. Pender, missionary who claims to know the hidden sides of human character; Mr Petherick, a lawyer interested only in the rational approach; and Sir Henry Clithering, whose experience as commissioner of Scotland Yard speaks for itself. Then, of course, there was Miss Marple, who had observed enough of human nature to be the best fit for a discerning investigator.
Great stories and tough puzzles but Joan H has a terribly presumptuous reading and poorly portrays characters that aren’t herself. What a shame. She’s also my favorite Marlow. All in all, worth a listen.
Thirteen Matters is a collection of some of Agatha Christie’s most famous short stories. Joan Hickson brings stories to life with her traditional style. Readers are transported to be a “fly in the wall” at various dinner parties and so on. How wonderful!!!
Joan Hickson is a great storyteller, very easy to listen to. I absolutely love this audiobook, a series of short murder mysteries.
Great short stories with Mrs. Marple, especially the last two. Agatha Christie is at her best.
