The Valhalla Prophecy is the ninth book in the Wilde/Chase series written by Andy McDermott. This action – packed thriller follows the adventures of archaeologist Nina Wilde and her husband, ex – SAS soldier Eddie Chase, as they race against time to uncover a deadly secret that could change the course of history.
The story begins with Nina and Eddie attending a conference in Norway, where they are approached by an old acquaintance, Kristian Frost. The Valhalla Prophecy / Wilde/Chase, Book 9, Audiobook Online By: Andy McDermott

In a museum in Stockholm, thieves stole a giant Nordic rune, but not before killing a security guard.

When Nina Wilde, head of the International Heritage Agency (IHA), and her husband, former mercenary Eddie Chase, arrive to investigate, they are told a macabre story. One scholar has discovered that the stone could be one of two keys to finding the mythical Valhalla site, where the Vikings predicted the world’s final battle would begin. The second stone is located at the bottom of the Norwegian lake.

But when Nina and Eddie ran to the scene, they were met with a horrifying surprise. Secret agents from around the world, including a ruthless spy in the IHA, are embroiled in a deadly game. Then a disturbing secret emerges from Eddie’s past, involving a mission in Vietnam and a woman he tried to save. Suddenly suspicious of her husband, Nina can’t stop her dangerous search for antiquities. For somewhere in the remote wilderness, two forces are about to converge: one that can save the world and the other that can destroy it.

It’s been a long time since Nina Wilde and Eddie Chase’s last story and it was well worth the wait. This is one of the better stories of this series that came out. As usual, it has a lot of history in her story and a lot of emotion put into it. I highly recommend this book, especially if you love their feats, because if you’ve read the series this is the best book since the series started. The next part will be as great as this one because what happens at the end of the story will show you that everyone has flaws somewhere in you and how we continue to learn to live with them and appreciate them. the finer things in life. Can’t wait for the next one to be out next March and pre – ordered. I hope you enjoyed reading this book and would highly recommend it to you.

The author tries to be more philosophical about his characters and introduces a very nice twist to the story that works on two separate time layers and intertwines the two. Wild and Chase are married and talk about having children. They still have to find the true meaning of love. The action is slower – paced than previous installments, but there are reunions with some of the characters in the previous installments. Technology and gadgets are still as important as the required maze and some chase. If you love other books and have been with them over the years, you will definitely love this one. However, I would not recommend it as the first book in the Wild and Chase series.
