The Voodoo Killings
- A Kincaid Strange Novel
- Narrated by: Susannah Jones
Kristi Charish’s The Voodoo Killings introduces Kincaid Strange, not your normal voodoo practitioner…. First, she’s 27 years old. Then there’s the fact that she lives in rainy Seattle, which isn’t exactly Haiti. And she went bankrupt.
With zombie farming outlaws across the continental United States, Kincaid must make a living running séances for college students with more money than brains yearning to learn guitar with the ghost of a grunge rocker in Seattle – who happens to be Kincaid’s friend, roommate again.
Then a stray zombie appears outside her neighborhood bar: Cameron Wight, a promising visual artist with no recollection of how he died or who raised him. ta. Not only is it dangerous that Kincaid is caught with an unauthorized zombie, she soon realizes he’s involved in a series of murders: Someone is targeting zombies and sorcerers in the area. Seattle’s infamous underground city, a hub of the paranormal. When the police refuse to investigate, the City’s oldest and most important zombies ask Kincaid for help. Raising ghosts and zombies is one thing, but finding the killer? She’s broke, but she’s not stupid.
And then she became the target…. There’s a saying, when it rains, it falls, especially in Seattle.
I was afraid that would be the one Anita Blake wanted to be, but there was no such thing. Kincaid Strange is a breath of fresh air in the zombie world. Great story that keeps you guessing who is the bad guy till the end. And great supporting characters. Can’t wait for the next one. Love the reader.
