Lisa Taddeo talks about different women who are facing different issues in their lives and the troubles are all there because they are women. Gender discrimination has been troubling women from the beginning of life and this is one thing that stops them from giving their hundred percent in their professional field.

The author as a reporter has reported these things throughout her career and now she has made a book out of the three most highlighted coverage of her time. The three women are pure American facing one of a kind problem in their social and professional lives. First woman under the radar is Lina whose marriage is ending in a big way and even her own counselor is against her or thinks that her husband is doing the right thing and has valid allegations against her.

Thus because of this terrorizing situation she tries to shift her attention to another person in a big way.The second one is Maggie who had a relationship at the age of seventeen and runs away from her house with the man she loves but he leaves her after a while and she is with no degree and no future at all. As she fights her case in the court she too is faced with a sort of rejection.

The third one is a really absurd case; Sloane’s husband allows her to have sex with other men in front of his eyes and even chooses partners for her. These real stories tell us about the women issues in America and what they are going through. There are three narrators who have narrated the book and all Tara Lynne Barr, Marin Ireland and Lisa Taddeo use their voices for different characters which help the listener to discriminate between characters.
