Throne of Glass By Sarah J. Maas
Throne of Glass is another epic attempt by Sarah J. Mass as its author. It is a brilliant piece of creative writing, which is primarily intended for kids between the ages of 11 to 13. Thrones of Glass is the opening of the novel series with the same title. The narration of this book is done magnificently by Elizabeth Evans in her signature tone.
The young assassin, Celaena Sardothien, who is just 18 years of age is dragged in front of the Crown Prince, after she served 1 year in the salt mines as a labor. She was thrown there to serve for the crimes that she had committed, which were not in line with the rule-book of the Crown prince. Prince Dorian was looking to offer her conditional freedom. The condition was to become a champion in a contest to find a new assassin.
All her opponents were male and also either warriors, assassins or thieves. Each one of them was fully backed and sponsored by a specific king council member. If she happens to come victorious over her opponents, then her punishment will be overturned and she will also get a chance to serve the kingdom for next 3 years. She finds her training rounds very hard and challenging, which were against Westfall, the captain of the guard.
There was a great twist in the tale when the prince started looking at Celaena as his love interest.
Soon, one of the contender got killed, followed by another. It was challenging for Celaena to find the killer, before she herself becomes a victim.
Empire of Storms and Heir of Fire are highly recommended novels by Sarah J. Mass, which are worth having a go at.
