Trinity’s Children/ Paradigm 2045, Book 1 – Free Full Audiobook

Trinity’s Children is the first science fiction book in the Paradigm 2045 series by author Robert W. Ross.
Model 2045: The Children of Trinity offers a risky reward for first exposure, genetic engineering, and artificial intelligence while providing a reverent nod to the golden age masters like Robert A. Heinlein and Larry Niven.

In 2004, the 131st birthday celebration of Dr. Damien Howard took place by surprise. His personal SETI project detected an extraterrestrial signal directed at Earth.

Dr. Howard contains a more serious warning message than greeting. In 1945, humanity became a species of galactic interest and had 100 years to solve the problem.

Now in 2045, there are only a few months left before humanity’s grace period expires and the world mourns the passing of a giant. Damien Howard lay dead. Only his security agent, Misha Sokolov and Artificial Intelligence Agent Coleman know about Earth’s impending doom.

Charlotte must assemble a crew capable of displaying both the ability to travel faster than light and the intelligence needed to join a galactic community. As the leaders of humanity become aware of the impending threat, massive forces attempt to thwart Omandi and her fledgling crew.

Despite Damien’s gifts of wealth, technology, and genetic superiority, his children face tough challenges as they race against the Armageddon watch that’s about to strike on May 16. 7 year 2045. On that day, humanity will change its pattern or perish.

I really enjoyed Trinity’s Children and plan to read the next book right away. I have a point of criticism first. The editing is terrible. There are frequent grammar and spelling errors, at least on the Kindle version. Lie / lie has been used incorrectly. Its possessive form always has incorrect apostrophes. It’s “deja vu” not deja vous. If you have two Damiens then it is plural and without the apostrophe. Kindle probably doesn’t edit?

BUT I loved the book – unique, interesting, funny. The character development and interactions are amazing. My favorite part is the frequent references to other sci-fi books and movies and the fact that those sometimes become part of the plot. A book about Heinlein, Star Trek, AND Doctor Who? How fun is that? Into the second book!
