01- ALL SHALL BE WELL is the second book in the Duncan Kincaid / Gemma James Mystery Novels series. Duncan Kincaid’s terminally ill neighbor Jasmine Dent passed away in her sleep. Is this death by suicide or a homicide?
Duncan Kincaid and Gemma James are very interesting main characters. Readers have a deeper insight into their backgrounds and personalities.
02- This is a fascinating traditional book. Great book to relax in front of the fire and wherever you feel comfortable reading it. The story is well choreographed and the special thing is that the main character who works for Scotland Yard has no doubt as to why he is investigating the death of his neighbour. The neighbor had terminal cancer and her death was not a surprise but the aspect it fits Duncan Kincaid. He started the investigation to find out the truth of the matter. The character Duncan Kincaid appears more and more as the book progresses and the person is likable.

03- This is the obvious difference between the 2 books. The first book finds Kincaid on vacation, investigating a murder and tracking down the killer. Her second book, it’s almost as if the murder is secondary to the story. More evidence points to this as a murder. For a short while, his partner Sergeant Gemma James was letting his friendship with the deceased still chisel his sentence. Story with many suspenseful details. Crombie’s writing/storytelling skills turned out to be very interesting. This book is not just a series of dialogues between characters.

04- The story is a bit sad because the victim has terminal cancer and the reader does not know whether her death is suicide, or murder. As Duncan reads the victim’s diary, we know she’s closer to what happens to the victim in other mysteries. The sergeant recognized each of them through Duncan and Gemma’s investigation. Duncan and Gemma’s relationship developed well.

05- Deborah Combie takes her characters through a mystery. To enhance the experience, she opens the story spontaneously and gives the reader a chance to see her characters through the eyes of other characters. Fascinating book, good plot, well read and beautifully written. This is the fascinating sequel to the Duncan Kincaid series. If you liked Louise Penny, Ellis Peters, Peter Grainger, Peter Lovesey, Joy Ellis, and Julia Spencer-Fleming, you’ll love this story.
