Best Audiobook 2020 – The Last Mile By David Baldacci

 The Last Mile is widely appreciated and read the novel. It is written masterfully by David Baldacci. The author has got a range of other quality novels to his name. A couple of the most exciting ones are A Minute to Midnight and Walk the Wire.

The Last Mile is an action and adventure fictional novel. The book is chapter two of the Memory Man Series. The narration of this book is jointly done by Kyf Brewer and Orlagh Cassidy. The duo managed to pull off a sensational performance to the amusement of the followers of this audiobook.

The story in this novel revolves around Melvin Mars who is a convicted murderer. He is counting down on the last few hours before he is executed. He was sentenced for the brutal killing of his parents a couple of decades ago. But, he was suddenly granted an unexpected pardon when another man came to the scene and confessed to the violent crime.

Amos Decker took a special interest in the case of Mars after finding some definite similarities to his very own life. Decker was a newly appointed agent in the FBI special task force. Both Mars and Decker were excellent football players. They had their promising careers cut short because of some serious tragedies in their respective lives. The families of both men were murdered brutally. In both cases, another suspect comes forward to confess for the crime, and that too, many years after the killing. Moreover, a suspect in both cases was someone who might not be telling the truth in his confession.

The Last Mile is good for its plot, amazing characters, and the situations that the author has created.
