It has been a decade almost since Nicolette left her hometown after Corinne goes missing from Cooley Ridge. She was the best friend of Nicolette. Nic is soon seen involved in a shocking situation that reawakens the case of Corinne and opened the old wounds. The investigation involved Nic, her boyfriend, Tyler, and her brother, Daniel. Jackson, the boyfriend of Corinne was also involved in the investigation. This was a decade long investigation and Nic was the only one who left Cooley Ridge. Daniel is expecting a baby soon with his wife, Laura. Jackson is working at a bar in the town, while Tyler is seeing Annaleise Carter. As soon as Nic makes a return to the town, Annaleise goes missing.

Nic tries hard to find the truth about the disappearance of her younger neighbor. Her investigation revealed some shocking truths about her family and friends. There were also revelations about the night when Corinne went missing 10 years ago.

The storyline was a bit complex and confusing. However, the ending or more precisely, the last couple of hours were quite interesting. You can call it a good time pass novel.
