Valentine is still alive out there and is trying to get possession of the Mortal Instruments after which he would become unstoppable. Jace and Clary can do nothing except to run for their lives until they reach the core of the matter.

Meanwhile in New York massive killing has been started and it appears that Valentine has decided to return to the surface. But this demon needs blood for the ritual and he selects Simon for this purpose. It was not clear in City of Bones that whom Clary loved but here she is sure that she loves Simon more than any other living soul.

When Valentine tries to use Simon’s blood in the process Jace uses his full power to stop his father to save the love of his sister. Cassandra Clare will open more secrets in the City of Glass and one thing is for certain that the role of Clary and Jace will become more and more important in the days to come.
