Dark Watch is a thriller, suspense, adventure, and nautical fiction authored by Clive Cussler and Jack Du Brul. It is the third installment in The Oregon Files. This story involves the Russians trying to find an ore of some sort. They end up finding it but internal collusion ruins the mission. This novel thus, features modern-day privacy, human smuggling, and slavery. Cussler is a bestselling author who has written a plethora of fascinating titles, one of them being Raise the Titanic. Also, you can check out Vixen 03 from the same author.

The narration by Scott Brick is better than the previous ones. The issue is; this is an old recording, so the quality is not top-notch. Furthermore, there are unnecessary comments left in which they forgot to edit out.

Juan Cabrillo and his crew have served the interests of powerful Western people while onboard their high-tech ship. They have been quite the comfortable albeit dangerous living. Now, their newest client comes from the Far East with a demand of protecting Japanese shipping magnates whose businesses are being threatened by brutal pirates.

Normally, these pirates only target small ships and yachts which makes them easy to target out on the open ocean. However, this time, commercial ships are going missing. They are attacking the big fish. However, when Cabrillo faces the enemy, he discovers something sinister behind the pirates’ plan. He is made known of a network of slavery and death that is being run right under their noses.

The story is getting quite similar to the previous novels. Something original would have been better. It is just the same old formula. Also, the bad quality of the audiobook gives a message to the customers that their considerations weren’t the priority.
