Free Online – Flowers for Algernon (Full Audiobook) By Daniel Keyes

Daniel Keyes was a celebrated American author. Who was given the prestigious Author Emeritus honor given in 2000 by the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America. The Flowers for Algernon is the most notable work done by the author. His other notable book includes Des fleurs pour Algernon, which deserves a mention here for its incredible writing done by the author.

The Flowers for Algernon book won the Nebula award in 1996 for the best novel of the year. It was released later in audio format, and gave listeners a great piece of literary entertainment. Thanks to the brilliant narration given for this novel by Jeff Woodman. His quality of expression and tone was par excellence throughout its narration.

Charlie Gordon was sure about himself that he is not much very bright at all. At the age of 32, he used to mop bakery floors and earned just as much as to make his both ends meet. He also used to study at a center for mentally challenged people for as much as 3 days a week. But all of this is just about to change drastically for Charlie.

The doctors were going to perform a very daring surgery on the brain of Charlie. They were optimistic that the operation would enhance the intelligence of Charlie just as it has done for the mouse, Algernon in the lab.

The Flowers for Algernon first came as a short story but later it became widely acclaimed by appearing in anthologies and also as a TV special. An award winning motion picture with the name of “Charly” was also made. This all confirms that the Flowers for Algernon is nothing short of an exceptional book. And it deserves to be listened in  audio format.
