Paul Sheldon is a top novelist, who is finally next to his top fan and that is Annie Wilkes. She is a lot more than just a rabid reader. She is nurse of Paul who is tending his body after a severe car accident. But at the same time, she is also quite furious that the author has murdered her most lovable character in his latest chapter. She finally becomes his captor, while keeping him as a prisoner in a completely isolated house.

Annie was actually looking up to Paul for writing another book, which tends to bring Misery back to life. She wanted this just for her and there were a lot of ways for her to spur him on. One way is the needle and the other one is an axe. If both of these doesn’t work then she might get extremely nasty and totally out of everyone’s control.
