Obsidio – The Illuminae Files Book 3

Obsidio is the third science fiction novel in The Illuminae Files series by bestselling author Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff. The content of the book is about Kady, Ezra, Hanna and Nik narrowly escaping death after the attack on Heimdall station and finding themselves crammed with 2,000 refugees aboard the container ship Mao. Jumping station destroyed and resources scarce, the only option is to return to Kerenza but who knows what they will find after 7 months of invasion. Kady’s cousin Asha after the initial BeiTech attack and joined Kerenza’s ragtag underground resistance.

When Rhys – the old flame from Asha’s past reappears in Kerenza, the two find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict. When space is running out, the final battle will take place on land and space, heroes will fall and hearts will be broken.

01- This is a good and interesting story. This is an all-time favorite series. Jay and Amie wrote a beautiful world, the loveliest characters, and were horrified to see how the war ended. What the book means to the end of our journey. The duo Kady Grant, Ezra Mason are loved throughout the story with their candid personalities being loved. We see a completely different side of the couple in the finale. They are exhausted, beaten down, full of rage, but they always cling to hope. Kady is one of my all time favorite female protagonists and she doesn’t disappoint. She is intelligent, cruel, and a strong emotional person who tries to energize everyone around her. Ezra is the perfect partner for her with his sense of humor and warmth.

02- With her incredible strength along with her fighting mind and intelligence, Hanna makes a beautiful match with Kady. Nik and Ezra are both natural jokers, and the two of them have a good time together. I love the taunts and taunts they make in the terrible dark times.

03- Asha is one of the main characters in the book Obsidio. This is Asha’s loss – hers in the first two books, as Kady mourns the loss of her cousin. This book is packed with action and suspense with little time to develop many characters. Is there a side story arc with Asha and a little girl she saved named Katya, and what kind of maternal feelings does it bring?
Ella in Gemina and desperately hoping she’s on screen in the finale, it’s really great to spend so much time with her. She’s still fun, agile, and keyboard-savvy — but she’s also grown in the sense that we see her develop a precious and sisterly affection for Hanna.
