This book is the third book in a series known by the main character’s name. The writer of this book is James Patterson. He is a beloved author whose books are read all over the world. The narration has been performed by Ron Butler and Maxwell Hamilton. It is a solid narration as both voice actors hold their ground. There isn’t much to complain about their performance.

A controversial US Senator is found dead in the middle of the night in his bed. The only lead the police have is a rhyme signed “Jack and Jill”. It is a sign of promise that this is just the beginning, that Jack and Jill will stop at nothing until their evil plan is complete.

Meanwhile, Alex Cross is called to a murder scene near his house, in a humble town far away from the corridor of powers where he used to serve previously. The victim is a beautiful girl who has been beaten up and deposited in front of a building for everyone to see.

As Cross tries to solve the case, the killer strikes again. Somehow, the murders are linked, he realizes. No one in Washington is safe, not the politician, not the children, and not the president.

This is one of the better additions in the series. Alex Cross is at the top of his game. This also seems to be his toughest assignment to date. The story is well planned and well written.
