The book is well hidden.
Its pages promise the power of the Sorcerer King himself.
And now that it’s been found, even the fact that it kills anyone stupid enough to break its cover hasn’t stopped people from scrambling for it.
Welcome to Bloodstone Lands!
Human assassin Artemis Entreri and his dark elf companion Jarlaxle have arrived in the demon-possessed wastelands of the frozen north at the request of their dragon patron. It doesn’t take long for them to find themselves caught in the middle of a struggle between powerful forces that want nothing more than to see them both die…or worse.
But Entreri and Jarlaxle are not just any wandering mercenaries, and the ancient evils and bitter bloody grudges of the wild Bloodstone Lands may finally meet their opponents.
Love this one, the insight into Artemis and Jarlaxle is a surprisingly welcome change if caught up in the usual Drizzt/Companions stories. I love those stories and this one has the same Salvatore flavor but with a different interesting angle in the central characters. I wanted more and didn’t think I would when I first started it.
This book plays out like a D&D game, gathering unlikely allies and two of the series’ best characters together as a team and embarking on a quest. In doing so, it offers an inspiring look at how table players can integrate seemingly incompatible characters into a party. Totally fun and full of jokes that any D&D fan will enjoy
Great chance to see Artemis and Jarlaxle together, great dynamic between the two. Great cast of friends and foes. Great story featuring two of RA Salvitore’s most intriguing characters: Jarlaxle and Artemis. Based in Vassa, north of the Bloodstone Pass, they travel with a group of seven others to take down the Lich King. it was a very enjoyable listen for me.
