Great new novel from five Sunday Times bestselling author, Trisha Ashley.
All Marnie wanted was somewhere to call home. Mourning the years lost in her marriage that has finally come to an end, she needs a fresh start and time to heal. Things she hoped to find in the rural west Lancashire village her mother had always told her about.
With nothing but her two green thumbs, Marnie takes up the gardening job, with a small house to make her own. The garden is beautiful – filled with roses, lavender and honeysuckle – and just a little rough around the edges. That’s more than can be said for her next door neighbor, Ned Mars.
Marnie missed Ned from her school days, but he was a far cry from the calm man she once knew. A recent relationship left him with a broken heart like hers.
Can a summer spent gardening help them heal and regain the forgotten dreams they lost.
As usual, a really great story with a lot of twists and turns, but a good story where it all worked out in the end. For those who have not read Tricia Ashley before, I would thoroughly recommend her books. They are very realistic but the stories are very well written. Loved the way her previous book characters appeared in this book, so emotional. Can’t wait for the next one now.
I think out of all the books by Trisha Ashley, this is the one I find personally that I can relate to the heroine of the story. The book is a bit slow in places but it’s a great story so that doesn’t really matter. The narrator is also good. I recommend reading the Christmas invitation first because some of the supporting characters are the main characters in it.
