The story of this Snow White is set in Edwardian England. Baby Marina Roeswood was cursed by her sister Arachne when she was christened. To save her from the curse, her godmother helps her reduce the curse but is unable to remove it. The only hope is to hide Marina from her aunt Arachne until Marina turns eighteen.

Marina was brought to Cornwall by her three godparents, growing up in a unique family of Spirit artists and magicians. Marina’s elemental gift of water is different from hers and her uncle’s. Another godmother, a water mage, taught her.

When Marina was seventeen years old, her parents died and Aunt Arachne became her guardian. Arachne eliminated Marina from everything she knew. Arachne and Reggie were not spirit magicians.

They are Satanists who develop their power from people who are capable of magic and the use of evil. Arachne wants what happens to his curse and restores it before his 18th birthday.
Marina meets Earth Master Dr. Andrew Pike when she rescues a young woman from his sanatorium. Dr. Pike founded his sanatorium to help the mentally ill, using his magical abilities.

Marina learns that the young woman she finds is a charity patient suffering from lead poisoning, she asks to work with Dr. Pike because her magic can remove lead from the body. The two grew closer as they worked together. Arachne did not know about the relationship between Dr. Pike and Marina, she did not know that he would be able to help her.
