The Path of Heaven By Chris Wraight – Audiobook Online
The Path of Heaven is the 36th book in the popular science fiction series The Horus Heresy, written by Chris Wraight. The Horus Heresy is a collection of novels set in the fictional universe of Warhammer 40,000, which serves as a prequel to the tabletop wargame.
In this installment, the story follows the events that take place after the Battle of Molech, where the loyalist forces of the Imperium have successfully repelled a massive Chaos invasion led by Warmaster Horus. The Path of Heaven focuses on the White Scars Space Marine Legion and their journey back to Terra, the heart of the Imperium.
The book begins with Jaghatai Khan, Primarch of the White Scars, leading his Legion through the perilous Warp in an attempt to return to Terra and aid in its defense against Horus and his traitor forces. However, their journey is fraught with danger as they face various obstacles and enemies along the way.
One of the main challenges faced by the White Scars is navigating through a region of space known as the Webway, a network of interdimensional tunnels created by an ancient alien race called the Eldar. The Webway is treacherous and filled with hidden dangers, including daemons and other Warp entities. The White Scars must use all their skill and cunning to navigate this dangerous realm and reach their destination.
As they make their way through the Webway, the White Scars encounter several factions vying for control over its pathways. They come into conflict with both Chaos forces and other loyalist Space Marine Legions who have also been stranded within this labyrinthine realm. These encounters lead to intense battles and strategic maneuvering as each faction fights for survival and dominance.
Throughout their journey, Jaghatai Khan faces internal conflicts within his Legion. Some of his warriors question his decisions and leadership, leading to tensions and divisions among the White Scars. The Primarch must navigate these challenges while also dealing with the external threats they face.
The Path of Heaven is a tale of heroism, sacrifice, and the struggle for survival in a galaxy torn apart by war. It explores themes of loyalty, brotherhood, and the lengths one must go to protect humanity from the forces of Chaos. The book delves into the character of Jaghatai Khan and his Legion, providing insight into their culture, traditions, and unique combat tactics.
Overall, The Path of Heaven is a thrilling addition to The Horus Heresy series, offering fans of Warhammer 40,000 an exciting and action-packed story set in a richly detailed universe.

The V Corps has been operating for too long beyond the vision of the wider Imperium, oblivious to the Warmaster’s rebellion and the war that will inevitably ensue.
Only when their leader, Jaghatai Khan, has satisfied himself that their path forward is right and right will the White Scars choose a side, fighting the traitors on all fronts. But, four years later, the Legion’s free spirit has been shattered by the relentless war of attrition against the Death Guard and the Emperor’s children – Khan’s Stormseers must find a clear path to Terra if they want to participate in the final apocalyptic battle.
I love Scars. Path to Heaven tracks very well. The story is a great addition to the overall HH series, and I love how different the 5th Legion is from their peers.
If you like scars more you will love this. Otherwise, you may still prefer the way of heaven. It’s a heavier action. There are many emperors, children, and death. Lots of Jaghatai, Yesuegei and Revuel joined them in prosperity. Ilya is a great human character who gets more attention. It has so much action, it’s by far one of the most action-packed heretics to date, perhaps only Fearless and Traitor can match.
Good space battles, the white scar books are some of the best. Hope to see them in future books, as the pointless battles in this book are as good as the previous ones.
I definitely agree that JB’s performance of White Scar was not as good as I expected. I definitely liked him voicing the dark lords and stuff like that. But it wasn’t enough to make me stop listening. He’s still a great storyteller and the story is so important!
The characters are beautiful, strangely described for a heretical book but they really are. I often listen to these books while I work. However, this one, I’ve been staring at a wall for the past 3 hours, it’s fascinating.
Really much better than what I expected 🙂 Good characters, good story, action, redemption as well as episodes and resolution. I enjoyed it very much!
