The Plot A Novel – Full Audiobook

The Plot is a mystery novel by author Jean Hanff Korelitz.
The Plot is a gripping audiobook about a story too good to steal and the writer who stole it.

Jacob Finch Bonner was once a promising young novelist with a very respectable first book published. Today, he is teaching in a third-rate MFA program and trying to maintain what remains of his self-esteem; he hasn’t written – let alone published – anything decent in years. When Evan Parker, his most arrogant student, declared that he didn’t need Jake’s help because the plot in his book was being worked on, Jake was ready to take the bragging. that’s typical amateur narcissism. But then… he heard the plot.

Jake returned to the downward trajectory of his own career and braced himself for the publication of a supernova, Evan Parker’s debut novel: But It Never Came. Upon discovering that his former student is dead, presumably unfinished, Jake does what any self-respecting writer would do with a story like that – a story necessarily must be told.

All of Evan Parker’s predictions came true, but it’s Jake who enjoys the wave. He is rich, famous, praised and read all over the world. The culmination of his glorious new life, an email arrives, the first kick in a terrifying anonymous campaign: You are a thief, it said.

As Jake struggles to understand his villain and hide the truth from his readers and publishers, he sets out to learn more about his late pupil, and what he discovered. surprised and frightened him at the same time. Who is Evan Parker, and how did he get the idea for his “sure thing” novel? What is the real story behind the plot, and who stole it from whom?

This book is a tedious, painful tagline. The narrator does a good job, but the story doesn’t fit the audio format. There is too much revelation through internal monologues and descriptions of the writing process instead of dialogue and interactions between characters.

The plot is quite predictable midway through the book. This makes the rest of the book really stretchy.

Love going to the end to find out who I was right about the culprit. It’s ironic that this book is about struggling writers. I was quite bored with the writing style, I skipped a lot of pages throughout the story with too many descriptions. And it goes on and on about writers’ struggles that I couldn’t be less interested in.

It’s no surprise that when the big reveal happens, it was pretty obvious early on. And don’t sympathize with the main character because he spends the entire book so indulging himself that he has no one to support or want to see their appearance in. Sorry but this book isn’t very good, I’m just not strong enough to put one down or I really would have. But hey, I won’t be able to write a novel at all so is that a positive?
