Two for the Dough _ Stephanie Plum Book 2 By Janet Evanovich

Two for the Dough is the second novel featuring the bounty hunter that we have come to love and admire – Stephanie Plum. It is a humor, mystery, and crime fiction written by Janet Evanovich. It was well received and spent a total of 36 weeks on the Top 150 list. Evanovich is a world-renowned author who has appeared on the New York Times, Amazon, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestseller lists. Listen to Fortune and Glory if you want more from the author. Also, Curious Minds is included in the credits of the author.

This narration by C. J. Critt is not the best one out there. She takes heavy breaths and doesn’t sound like the woman she is supposed to be playing. Also, her other characters aren’t any better. Her grandma Mazur is undisputedly the worst. Worst yet, she sounds like a man when doing Mazur. That causes a lot of distraction for the listener as then we don’t realize who is talking.

At this point, Stephanie is an inexperienced bounty hunter. She is a novice in the game so she gets an easy case from her boss and cousin Vinnie. She has to apprehend a local boy who is accused of shooting his friend in the knee and taking flight from bail. This kid, Kenny is also related to the vice cop Morelli, so it will be like killing two birds with one stone. Also, there’s another case involving twenty-four missing caskets.

This book is a very nice addition to the series. The characters are nice and the writing is humorous. There is non-stop action and mystery till the very last page of the book. Overall, it is a light and fun book.
